Enable NZ has a long-established relationship with ETCO as the preferred Network Support Partner and one of the Microsoft Application Project Consultants for over 15 years. The initial engagement required managing a small network with one on-premise server however with year-on-year growth by ETCO to eleven training sites the national network infrastructure environment required significant expansion and as early adopters of Cloud Technology significant technological advancements have been implemented to provide service while still maintaining the forever demanding robust security platform.  Enable NZ has been a valued contributor driving a comprehensive approach to the demands of the ETCO network of users.

Under the terms of the SLA Enable NZ has delivered year on year services of a Helpdesk and has resolved user issues in accordance with the key performance indicators of the SLA.  Beyond that Enable NZ has developed meaningful and supportive relationships with ETCO staff and fulfilled the role of the internal IT Network Analyst in collaboration with the CFO who holds organisational responsibility for the ETCO Network.  In this capacity Enable NZ has drafted network policies, liaised with third party application providers, assessed security products and best of breed hardware offerings.  Enable NZ is often thought of as ETCO’s own IT department as they have continuously put ETCO first and have been a dedicated team of professionals over the years.

Enable NZ solutions continue to be an integral part of the ETCO business operations and have helped shape business progress.  These developments include:

• Initiating Skype for business as the main phone system in 2017.
• Moved to Microsoft Teams under evaluation with Microsoft.
• The transfer of all inhouse servers to the cloud.
• Preparation in 2018 to enable users of the network to be able to work from anywhere in the world. Successful implementation provided business continuity as users continued to have uninterrupted use of the network during the pandemic lockdowns.
• SharePoint developments across the wider departmental groups.
• Ticketing system for 4000+ students and apprentices.

In terms of business continuity Enable NZ provides ETCO the confidence to successfully implement disaster recovery protocols by their attention to data protection such as

• Back-ups of all servers.
• Cloud storage to a secondary cloud provider.
• Synchronisation to a local NAS in NZ.
• Quarterly backup.
• Bi-annual restore test.

Enable NZ implemented in late 2022 The Zero Trust Architecture and successfully inducted ETCO to ZScaler by evaluating, designing, and implementing the rollout for all users as a further tool in disaster recovery.
